A broad range of artwork by Voorhees family members will be on exhibit and for sale at this unusual event. Meet the family of artists known throughout North Carolina.
Edwin and Mildred, whose watercolors, oils, pastels and drawings delighted so many, passed on their love for art to family and friends. Reproductions of several of their oils and watercolors will be available.
Susan, a part-time occupational therapist lives in Asheville creating rich and detailed pastel and oil still lifes and landscapes.
Jane, a full-time painter from Asheville, works in watercolor, oils and pastels and is a member of the Watercolor Society of NC. Her popular cards, prints and 2012 calendar will be available as well.
David, a professional potter since 1974, makes hand-painted and carved porcelain pottery, wood-fired stoneware and raku fired vessels along with his popular Wedding Wish Vases.
David's wife, Molly Sharp Voorhees, is a jeweler fabricating work from sterling silver and gold. Her pieces feature found beach pebbles, found objects and highly textured metal. Molly and David are both members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and own Hand in Hand Gallery in Flat Rock, NC, where many of the Voorhees family members are represented.
Extended family member, Chad Alice Hagen, from Asheville will exhibit her hand felted fine art wall pieces, brooches, felted scaves and handmade books.

The 14th Voorhees Family Art Show and Sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, November 19 and 20, 2011 in the Norwood Park neighborhood of North Asheville. This weekend event is free and open to the public.
From Asheville City center take Merrimon/US 25 north crossing under I-240, travel 1.2 miles, turning right on Murdock St. At the immediate T intersection turn left onto Woodward Ave. Follow Woodward around corner to the second house on the right. Park along street.
